About
The Kids Rights Count campaign has been initiated by the Family Council of Queensland, a peak body comprising representatives of a number of pro-family organisations and churches.
The organizing team includes doctors (GPs/paediatricians), lawyers, ethicists and parents, who are outraged that our State Government might approve a law that sets out to violate the fundamental right of a child – contained in the UN Declaration on the Rights of the Child – to grow up in the care of her own parents, and not to be separated from her mother.
The Surrogacy Bill 2009 will do just that: deprive a child of her fundamental need to know the love of her real Mum, and even – in the case of single or same-sex surrogacy – force a child to live her whole life without a mother, or without a father.
All members of the team give their time pro bono, as a civic duty, to defend a child’s most fundamental relationship and society’s most essential structure: the mother-father-child bond.
Please help us with this campaign through your active participation and support.
